Welcome Parents and Students,
My name is Shawnicia Smith and I will be your child’s third grade teacher. This is my eighth year as a classroom teacher. I graduated from California State University, Stanislaus with a B.A. in Liberal Studies. I completed my credential graduate coursework at California State University, Dominguez Hills. I have worked in Compton Unified, Lennox School District and in Celerity Charter Schools. I have held many positions in the educational arena. In the past, I have worked as a classroom aide, a substitute, a private tutor and curriculum specialist.
I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, phone calls, bi-weekly newsletters, quarterly reports and parent-teacher conferences. I am available for conferences regarding your child’s progress before school (from 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.) and after school.
